Christmas Party

Planning:

For the Christmas party we all joined as a group to discuss our ideas. Some ideas that we decided upon were to have bands performing as there were lots of people around the college that were interested in coming to perform on the night. We also decided to have this taking place in the Theatre Bar area as it will be the last day of college so over 18s can get a drink. We also thought that karaoke would be nice as it would get everyone involved and would be fun to do after the bands have performed to finish the night off. We also would get decorations such as tinsel to decorate the bar area to make it have more of a christmassy feel. Lastly I made a poster to be hung up around the college to entice students to come and make everyone aware of the event. For the poster I decided on a green christmassy background with Christmas decorations on it, I then added a bold title which told the audience straight away what the event was about and proceeded on adding the information about the party in smaller text below telling people what we plan to do on the day and  act times act. I consulted everyone on any changes that might need making or any preferences on the design to which they were all in agreement.

Our Event:

On the day of the we began to set up for the event, which meant speaking to techs and gathering the equipment we needed for setting up for the bands in the Theatre Bar area. Once we had got all the equipment we moved all the tables out of the way and helped in putting up the drum kit, microphone stands and making sure the speakers and other things worked well. once this had been completed we then got tinsel and put it round the legs of tables and microphone stands to give the room a Christmas vibe. We then opened up the bar and waited for the bands to turn up and perform and for students to show up. This all turned out very smoothly and lots of staff and students showed up to the Christmas party, the bands all took turns and lots of different genres of music were played which was great to watch and listen to. The Karaoke that took part afterwards went very well and lots of students got involved in playing their favourite music and singing along which was fun and made a lot of people smile and laugh which was the aim and made a good way to end the night.
