What tasks will you plan to do this week?

I am thinking of ideas for the Met fest and discussing and writing them down on my Proposal form. I intend on doing an Escape room, helping with the tea party and ushering as well as doing an event outside of college. 

What resources will you need? (include people to work with and materials/equipment etc)

I will need to use google drive to write my proposal and for research I will use the internet to research different escape rooms to give me ideas of themes to use and what I will need.

I managed to get lots of different ideas of what an escape room could be like and what themes I can use for example acopalypse themed or murder mystery. What went well is finding an idea for the MET fest that I think I will enjoy taking the lead on. Next week I will discuss my ideas for the escape room to Terry and get information on what will work.

This week I plan on looking at another event as a back up plan in case my escape room idea isn't practical. So I will be looking at doing a treasure hunt and what a treasure hunt involves and what I would need.

For this I will need to look at different rooms around the college that I can use. I will also need a map of the college and props that can either be made or bought.

I will need to research more about treasure hunts/trails online and create a list of things that can be hidden around the college and what event to have for the end room. Could collaborate with other students projects so that the last room leads to one of their events. so I would need to use google docs and students.

After discussing ideas with Terry she thought that an escape room would be too advanced and would need a lot of planning and support to do it, so I decided that I would have a back up plan of  making it into a treasure hunt and using some ideas that I already have to make it more practical. I could also collaborate with actors to help them out. I intend on researching treasure hunts more and speaking to Megan next week as she does escape rooms in Brighton and can tell me whether she thinks my idea could be possible for MET Fest I will also look at rooms around the college that I could possibly use for these ideas.

What tasks will you plan to do this week?

I plan on looking at rooms around the college to do my escape room in and speaking to megan about escape rooms. I also intend on making a loop on logic of spooky sounds to give the room an ambiance for when people are in there. I will also be thinking of red lighting for in the room and materials for on the walls that gives the feeling of stepping into another place.

What resources will you need? (include people to work with and materials/equipment etc)

I will speak to Steve Lewis to see if I can get any red lights for in the room and I will also speak to Terry and Donna to see if I can use certain rooms in the college for the Escape room and going to finances to see when the rooms are free to practice what the escape room could be like. I might also need to see Charlie to see if I can borrow certain music equipment for the day like speakers.

I will research more on Escape rooms and figure out what props I would need. I will also look at rooms around the college and see if I can use them for my Escape room and find out when the rooms are free so that I can go in there and start to see what I would need to decorate the room and if it can be blacked out.

I spoke to Megan who does Escape rooms in Brighton. She liked my idea and said she thinks it can work for MET Fest and if I could find out a theme and plan, for example what rooms props and students I will need I can then have a meeting again with her to see if an escape room would be an option. I also ushered at the theatre for the play Edwards Scissorhands and Cluedo this helped me in understanding more about the Theatre and what they do and I started on making a logic soundtrack to be played on a speaker in the escape room. I intend on finding out what equipment I will need to make this successful and speak to staff about times, days and rooms that can be used for next week.

Plan: Ideas for met fest 

 

What tasks will you plan to do this week?

I plan on visiting some escape rooms in my area to see what they are like and to give me ideas on the sort of puzzles and questions they use so that I can start thinking of my own. I will also speak with Megan again and see what she thinks about my plans so far for the event. I will also speak to textiles or art about fabric that can be used and hire a room out so that I can work on painting the fabric and making props and signs. I also need to think of a storyline that I can use and write it out so that it can be read to people coming to the escape room.

I will need fabric, paint, cardboard and I will need to speak to Steve about blindfolding people and what the health and safety precautions are.

This week I looked at some drama rooms upstairs that I think would be very good to do my escape room in as it is close to the back entrance from the car park so it’s accessible, it is mostly empty so would be easy to decorate and black out the windows. I then spoke to people in the finance office and they were able to tell me when the room would be empty so that could go in there and test out what the escape room would look like. I also sent an email to Terry and Donna asking them if I could use this room for my event and if we could set up a meeting to discuss options. I also spoke to Steve Lewis about blindfolding people however that would mean having to do a health and safety form and there are lots of stairs leading up to the room so I decided against this idea. Next week I intend on going to the room and testing my logic loop that I have made on a speaker and seeing how blacked out the room is with the blinds down, I will also take pictures of the room and see how I would lay it out. I need to see either Donna or Terry to see if I can definitely use this room and get a speaker from Charlie.

This week I plan on researching events that can be made online and seeing if I can encoperate my escape room to an online event instead.

This week unfortunately I have had to change my plans as there is a lockdown in the uk due to a virus outbreak that has caused events to be cancelled and people to stay at home. Instead I am now thinking of making an escape room online to keep people entertained during this time so I have looked at apps where I can make my own escape room. I will try this out and see if it works and see what website is best for doing this. Next week I will continue making the escape room so it's ready to be presented to people online.

This week I will look at other online resources that I can use, such as Zencastr, Zeno radio and other online platforms. I will then contact a few people I know and see if they can create a live stream of them DJing that I can either use to make a radio station or livestream. I will also create a website so that I can use this to link with my Event

I will need to use social media to contact people so Instagram, Facebook… I will also need to look at Zencastr, Zeno radio, Castbox… to create my event.

Research I will carry out this week will be to contact people I know that have equipment and resources to be able to do a livestream from home. I will also research how livestreams/ radio stations work to help me in doing it myself.

This week I contacted a few of my friends to see if they were happy to help me do a livestream and radio station. They were happy to do this however the only problem is having the equipment to do this. I am going to contact some more people to see if they have equipment and if not find a way I can still do this without those resources. I have also started creating my Website which is going well however I still need to finish this off. Next week I will finish my website and start to set up my event using one or a few websites. I will also have found a trusted person to DJ for my event.

This week I plan on doing a collaboration on a House Track with a student from college. I am also going to finish linking my website to my Radio station and hopefully getting people to DJ on my radio.

I will need to use Logic to produce my track and the website Zeno to use my Radio station

This week I have set up my Radio station and created a graphic design logo and a name for it. I have also started collaborating with another student on making a house track which I will possibly play on my Radio station. Next week I hope to have progressed on my collaboration and I hope to have got people to play on my Radio station and finish my website.

This week I plan on putting links on my website to my radio station and other social media platforms and creating a Facebook page where I can promote my website and radio station. I also hope to complete the website and speak to my Aunties about doing a soul DJ set on my radio. I also intend on carrying on with my track and creating a bibliography page on my website.

This week I have finished my website and have added links to my Facebook and Instagram page where I have created accounts that I will be posting my events on. I have also contacted my Auntie who is a soul DJ and she is happy to play on my radio station. Furthermore I have looked at video tutorials on other resources I need for my radio station to work and worked more on my track.

What tasks will you plan to do this week?

This week I plan on getting a practice recording from my auntie and figure out downloading it to mp3 so that it can be ready to be played on my radio station. I also plan on getting other people to create a DJ set so that i have a few sets that I can play

I will work with my auntie and a few other DJs in getting the recordings. I will also use the internet to find out how to download to mp3 from different platforms if they cannot do so themselves.

This week my auntie tested out doing an hour DJ set on Facebook live to see how she can record her set as she doesn't have the ability to download software on her computer. I then researched different ways she could download it to mp3 by uploading it to Youtube, Spotify… and doing it that way so i'm hoping for her to do it again and use this method. I am also hoping to get more DJ set recordings from other people I know so that next week I can start to advertise my radio on my social media and have mp3 recordings to upload onto there.

This week I plan on getting DJ mixes from friends and people I know and downloading them to mp3. I also plan on designing a poster with dates, times and artists' names on it that I will then upload to my Vibes Events pages on Instagram and Facebook with a link to the radio station.

This week I will need to work with my friend on social media to see if he has finished the DJ set and get him to send me the link. I will also be contacting other people I know to see if they can also record a set for me.

This week I got together a DJ mix from one of my friends which I will upload onto my DJ station. I have also contacted a few other people I know to see if they can also do a DJ mix for me because this would mean I can then put them onto zeno radio as a playlist and it means it will go on for a lot longer. I have also started making a poster to promote the artists playing and my radio station so that I can get more listeners. I will be uploading this to my Facebook and Instagram. Next week I plan to get my radio station live. I have decided to do this next week to give me time to get everything working and for me to get more mixes to be played. Additionally I will also add more to my Vibes Events website and carry on with my track.

Plan: Radio Station 

 

What tasks will you plan to do this week?

This week I plan on getting a mix from someone I know and trying out putting it onto logic to bounce it down to mp3 and taking out any talking and adding automation. I also plan on uploading my poster to my Facebook and Instagram advertising my radio station and the mix I am going to play from my friend ‘Elevate’.

To do this I will need to use Logic pro x to test out bouncing down audio to mp3 from what DJs send me. I will also need to use Facebook and Instagram to promote my radio set that will be on Friday.

This week I will look at more tutorials to help me work out how to use a microphone when the radio is on air so that I can introduce myself and the DJ. I will also be working with someone I know called Bryan who does more soal music, on creating another mix for me to play on my radio next week.

This week I have tested out getting a rough audio mix sent to me via email onto logic and have been able to add automation to fade parts when canceling out parts of the mix where there was talking. I have also bounced this down to mp3 which means I can use it on my radio station. I have then contacted Bryan and told him this worked and asked him to do a proper DJ set for me to use next week. I have also been sent another DnB mix by another student which will make my radio go on for longer. Lastly I finished my poster which I posted onto my social media accounts to promote my radio station and the DJs and to get people to tune in to it on Saturday. Next week I plan to upload another mix of a different genre of music onto my radio station and create another poster for this which I will again put onto social media, I will be doing this for myself as an extra.
